SBC Mas Cerveza Por Favor
With its' beautiful reddish/amber color, Mas Cerveza Por Favor was visually appealing as well as crisp and refreshing on the palate. Essentially a Vienna lager, MCPF presented with a toasty flavor and residual caramel-like sweetness, due to Scenic Brewing's use of Caramel Vienna Malt.
Growing up in Southern California and spending a good part of my adult life in the Southwest, I've developed a fondness for Mexican style beers (such as Dos Equis Amber). Scenic Brewing's Mas Cerveza did not disappoint. It proved to be a very approachable, easy drinking beer and provided a great complement to our take-out Cinco De Mayo feast.
Served wiith a wedge of lime, the Mas Cerveza Por Favor was an obvious (and apt) choice to accompany Scenic Brewing Company's Tacos al Pastor and Ale House Nachos. The spicy and sweet flavor profile of the Tacos al Pastor nicely complemented the Amber Mexican Lager. The pineapple in the tacos and the somewhat smokey punch of cumin brought out the residual caramel-like sweetness of the beer.
The Ale House Nachos, loaded with ground beef, onions, tomatoes, jalapeños and cheese were delicious. The Mas Cerveza Por Favor paired nicely with them, taming the sharpness of the jalapeño's. The toasty flavor of the nacho's corn chips highlighted the subtle hints of maize used in the brewing of this lager.
